To add accent marks to letters in foreign words in Microsoft Word, you can use specific keyboard shortcuts. For example, to type the character ñ, hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys while pressing the ~ (tilde) key. Then, release all keys and quickly press the n key.
In both Word and Outlook, you can insert accent marks (also known as diacritical marks) like acute accents, cedillas, circumflexes, diaereses or umlauts, grave accents, and tildes.
Note: To type uppercase accented letters, make sure Caps Lock is on before using the shortcuts. If you're using a laptop without a separate numeric keypad, you can insert most accented characters by navigating to Insert > Symbol > More Symbols in Word.

Q: How do I type accented letters?
There are several ways to type accented letters: using ALT codes on Windows, Option key combinations on Mac, enabling the US International keyboard, or simply copying and pasting from our collection. Mobile devices typically offer accent options when you press and hold a letter key.
Q: Do accented letters work everywhere?
Yes! Our accented letters are standard Unicode characters that work in virtually all modern applications, including word processors, emails, social media, and websites. They can be copied and pasted anywhere that accepts text input.
