ṁ is the small letter m with a dot above. In the old Irish orthography, a dotted m marked lenition, the softening of the consonant that modern Irish spells as mh. It is a precomposed character at U+1E41 in the Latin Extended Additional block, and its capital form is Ṁ (U+1E40).
