F With Accent

F is the quiet one: just 4 forms, led by ƒ — the hooked florin sign that once stood for Dutch guilders and still doubles as a function symbol in mathematics. Every letter on this page copies in one click — click a card, then paste anywhere with Ctrl+V (Windows), Cmd+V (Mac) or a long-press → Paste on a phone.

How to type F with accent

Accented forms of F are not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for them. Pick your platform:

Windows

ƒ
0192thenAltX
  1. In Microsoft Word, type the hexadecimal code point of the letter — 0192 for ƒ.
  2. Press Alt+X: the code converts into the accented letter in place.

Tip: No accented form of F has a classic Windows Alt code. Outside Word, press Win + . to open the emoji panel and look under its Symbols tab — or copy the letter straight from this page, which is fastest of all.

Mac

  1. Press Control + Command + Space to open the Character Viewer.
  2. Search for the character name — for example "Latin Small Letter F with Hook" — and double-click it to insert.

Tip: The press-and-hold pop-up has no accented forms of F; the Character Viewer is the reliable route — or copy the letter straight from this page.

iPhone & Android

  1. Long-press pop-ups on iPhone, iPad and Android don't cover accented forms of F (on iOS, only b, f, j, m, p, q, v and x lack a menu).
  2. Fastest route on a phone: tap the ƒ card above to copy it, then long-press the text field and choose Paste.

Tip: Every accented form of F is quickest to copy straight from this page — tap a card, then paste.
