Å is the capital letter A with a small ring above it, the uppercase form of å. It is a separate letter of the alphabet in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish, sorted after Z rather than treated as a decorated A. Its code point is U+00C5, and its lowercase form is å. How to type Å
Å is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- Turn on Num Lock so the numeric keypad produces digits.
- Hold Alt, type 0197 on the numeric keypad, then release Alt — Å appears at the cursor.
