Latin Capital Letter T with Cedilla · U+0162
Ţ is the capital T with a cedilla, the hook-shaped mark beneath it. It appears in older Romanian texts and legacy encodings in place of the correct Romanian letter, which uses a comma below instead. Unicode encodes it as the precomposed character U+0162, with ţ (U+0163) as its small form. How to type Ţ
Ţ is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- In Microsoft Word, type the hexadecimal code point — 0162 for Ţ.
- Press Alt+X: the code converts into the character in place.
Tip: Ţ has no classic Windows Alt code. Outside Word, press Win + . to open the emoji panel and look under its Symbols tab — or copy the character straight from this page, which is fastest of all.
Mac
