ú is the small letter u with an acute accent. In Spanish and Portuguese the acute marks a stressed syllable, while in Hungarian, Czech and Slovak ú stands for a long u sound. It is a precomposed character at code point U+00FA, and its capital form is Ú (U+00DA). How to type ú
ú is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- Turn on Num Lock so the numeric keypad produces digits.
- Hold Alt, type 0250 on the numeric keypad, then release Alt — ú appears at the cursor.

Mac
