Y dot below

Latin Capital Letter Y with Dot Below · U+1EF4

Ỵ is the capital Y with a dot below it. Vietnamese writes its six tones as diacritics on vowels, and the dot below marks the nặng (heavy, glottalized) tone, so Ỵ is the nặng-tone form of a capital Y. Its lowercase form is ỵ (U+1EF5). Click the tile to copy Ỵ, then paste it anywhere with Ctrl+V (Windows), Cmd+V (Mac) or a long-press → Paste on a phone.

How to type Ỵ

Ỵ is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:

Windows
