H circumflex
Latin Capital Letter H with Circumflex · U+0124
Ĥ is the capital H with a circumflex accent above it. It is used in Esperanto, where it stands for a guttural sound like the ch in Scottish loch or German Bach. Encoded at U+0124 in the Latin Extended-A block, it is a precomposed character whose lowercase partner is ĥ (U+0125). Click the tile to copy Ĥ, then paste it anywhere with Ctrl+V (Windows), Cmd+V (Mac) or a long-press → Paste on a phone.

How to type Ĥ
Ĥ is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- In Microsoft Word, type the hexadecimal code point — 0124 for Ĥ.
- Press Alt+X: the code converts into the character in place.
Tip: Ĥ has no classic Windows Alt code. Outside Word, press Win + . to open the emoji panel and look under its Symbols tab — or copy the character straight from this page, which is fastest of all.
Mac
- Press the Option combination for the accent — a highlighted accent mark appears, waiting.
- Type Shift+H; the two combine into Ĥ.
Tip: The press-and-hold pop-up has no shortcut for this exact form, so the Option combination above is the keyboard route — or copy the character straight from this page.
iPhone & Android
- Long-press pop-ups on iPhone, iPad and Android don't cover Ĥ.
- Fastest route on a phone: tap the big Ĥ tile above to copy it, then long-press the text field and choose Paste.
Tip: Copying from this page works on every phone — no keyboard settings needed.
Copy-paste is a typing method too — every accented form of H copies in one click on the H with accent page, alongside the full typing guides.
Customize Ĥ
Style the symbol your way — pick colors, size and shape, then copy the HTML snippet or download a square PNG/SVG (transparent background supported).
