o circumflex
Latin Small Letter O with Circumflex · U+00F4
ô is the lowercase o with a circumflex, the small roof-shaped mark above the letter. It appears in French words like hôpital and côte, where it often marks a historically lost letter, and in Portuguese. In Vietnamese, ô is a distinct vowel in its own right that also takes tone marks. Its capital form is Ô (U+00D4). Click the tile to copy ô, then paste it anywhere with Ctrl+V (Windows), Cmd+V (Mac) or a long-press → Paste on a phone.

How to type ô
ô is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- Turn on Num Lock so the numeric keypad produces digits.
- Hold Alt, type 0244 on the numeric keypad, then release Alt — ô appears at the cursor.
Tip: No numeric keypad? Press Win + . for the emoji panel (Symbols tab), or copy the character straight from this page.
Mac
- Press the Option combination for the accent — a highlighted accent mark appears, waiting.
- Type o; the two combine into ô.
Tip: Easier still: press and hold the o key itself and a pop-up offers ô — type the number shown under it.
iPhone & Android
- On an iPhone or iPad, press and hold the o key on the on-screen keyboard.
- A pop-up row of accented versions appears — slide your finger to ô and release.
Tip: The pop-up row comes from the letter’s long-press menu on the iPhone’s English (US) keyboard (iOS 17+); Gboard and other Android keyboards offer similar menus, though the exact set varies.
Copy-paste is a typing method too — every accented form of O copies in one click on the O with accent page, alongside the full typing guides.
Customize ô
Style the symbol your way — pick colors, size and shape, then copy the HTML snippet or download a square PNG/SVG (transparent background supported).
