Õ is the capital O with a tilde, the uppercase form of õ (U+00F5). It carries the same roles: the nasal vowel of Portuguese, the distinct Estonian alphabet letter, and the ngã (glottalized rising) tone mark on o in Vietnamese. How to type Õ
Õ is not printed on most English keyboards, but every device hides a shortcut for it. Pick your platform:
Windows
- Turn on Num Lock so the numeric keypad produces digits.
- Hold Alt, type 0213 on the numeric keypad, then release Alt — Õ appears at the cursor.

Mac
- Press the Option combination for the accent — a highlighted accent mark appears, waiting.

Tip: The pop-up row comes from the letter’s long-press menu on the iPhone’s English (US) keyboard (iOS 17+); Gboard and other Android keyboards offer similar menus, though the exact set varies.
